In a letter signed by the president of the group, Barr. Chizy Enyi, the group recounted how Chief Dr. Davis Ibiamu Ikanya in consultation with APC leaders and APC members in Rivers state House of Assembly, wrote a letter to the Speaker, Rivers state House of Assembly, Ikunyi Ibani Owaji on the choice of APC on the minority leadership of the House by nominating Hon Jossiah Olu as the minority leader. It is disheartening to note, that the letter was rejected and PDP led Rivers state House of Assembly conspired with Governor Nyesom Wike and supported by O. K. Chinda and appointed one Hon. Benibo Anabraba, who also became the sole holder of all the minority positions in the Rivers state House of Assembly till the end of the 8 Assembly.

The letter reads:

4th July, 2019

Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila,
The Speaker,
Federal House of Reps,
National Assembly Complex,
Three Arms Zone,
Abuja.

Sir,

DON’T BE DISTRACTED BY THE UNRULY BEHAVIOR OF HON. OK. CHINDA AND OTHERS

We the members of Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership wishes to congratulate you on your victory as member elect and subsequent emergence as the speaker of the Federal House of Representative. It is indeed, a well deserved victory to our democracy.
Having emerged as the speaker, it is your duty to uphold your oath of office and the sanctity of law making and above all, protect the interest of all Nigerians.

Your solute stand in announcing Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and others as minority leaders in the House is commendable and shows that you are really capable to pilot the affairs of the House for the next four years. Though the task ahead of you is so great and demanding that you cannot allow your fate to be by chance, we urge you to always remain resolute and steadfast, putting public interest at first instance.

Mr. Speaker Sir, it will interest you to note that there are other political parties in the House of Representative that constitute the minority and therefore, only the People’s Democratic Party cannot solely take decision on the leadership of the minority without consulting other political parties.

Permit us to refer you to a similar case in Rivers state, though with a slight deference. After 2015 and all the re-elections that took place in Rivers state, APC became the only minority party in Rivers state House of Assembly. The Chairman of APC in Rivers state, Chief Dr.

Hon. O. K. Chinda’s unearthical attitude on the floor of the house should no longer be treated with kid gloves, HENCE WE ASK ‘DOES THE RICH ALSO CRY’?

We have watched closely the ways and manner you have adopted in piloting the affairs of the House and we have come to a conclusion, that you have not abuse your position of trust and have also not betrayed the confidence reposed in by Nigerians.

We, hereby, urge you to continue to stand firm and resolute in piloting the affairs of the House and Nigerians will be there to back you up at all times.

Sign,

CHIZY ENYI ESQ.
