The Okerewa Development Trust under the leadership of Benjamin Ngokanya on Saturday 12th August 2023 awarded scholarship for post graduate study abroad to Miss Gold Ikodie
Miss Gold Ikodie was handed over a cheque of fourteen thousand seven hundred and eighty four pounds to study Master degree in the United Kingdom
The hand over which took place in Okerewa Community had the parents of Miss Gold Ikodie in attendance, the paramount ruler of Okerewa Community, Chief Eteeh O. Elechi, the Community Liaison Officer, The youth chairman, members of the community development trust, Dr. Simeon and many other dignitaries present

Speaking, the paramount ruler, Chief Eteeh eulogized Benjamin Ngokanya and members of the Development Trust for their good works in the development of the community. He charged them to continue in their good works and be rest assured of his unwavering support and that of the council.
He advised the beneficiary not to take the community scholarship for granted, rather should see it as an opportunity to make the community proud in her education and otherwise. He used the medium to encourage members of the community to take embrace education moving forward so as to enable the community produce large number of graduates in future with the steps introduced by the current Okerewa Development Trust
Mr Ikodie, the father of the beneficiary glorified God for locating his daughter. He described Benjamin Ngokanya and his team as God sent to the community, as he expressed total gratitude for the kind gesture done on the daughter and them as a family. He assured the people that the daughter will not disappoint them and the community.
