Tony Okocha who had publicly kicked against Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s style of governance, frowned at failure of the governor to hold State Executive Council meeting for months.

Speaking to True Blue Reporters, Tony Okocha gladly stated, “Our advocacy on SEC meeting has worked”

According to him,  “I had noted that it was not an achievement for the Governor to hold SEC meeting after the one in early December 2023.”

“SEC meeting is so crucial to Governors that even in their absence, they delegate their deputies to preside” he stated

“SEC meeting is avenue for top Government officials to canvass programmes and ventilate on them for the overall interest of governance” he said

Tony Okocha further condemned a situation of governance where SEC doesn’t hold month to month as sole administrator kind of governance as he perceived earlier in the case of Rivers State

“When SEC doesn’t hold, it announces the Governor as despotic and sole administrator” he stated.

True Blue Reporters recalls that Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday at Executive Council Chamber of Government House in Port Harcourt, presided over council meeting to deliberate among several key policies where the governor approved the 33.5kikometers Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubina-Ikiri-Omoku road.

Also deliberated and approved was N80.8billion dual carriage road awarded to Craneburg Construction Company. Reports from the Ministry of Health was also considered
