In what seem to be a set back for public transportation road users in part of Port Harcourt, the Mini Bus drivers on Friday has taken to a protest.
The mini Bus drivers who were already converging at Rumuola Junction as at the time of filing this report spoke to True Blue Reporters saying,
“We are protesting against multi taxation upon mini Bus drivers plying the Rumuola road, NTA road, Choba road, Rumuokoro axis and Rumuigbo”
They complained that amidst rising cost of fuel, they are being multi taxed by various groups and are left with nothing everyday.
“Price of Fuel is on the high side, customers are not willing to pay high yet we still manage. Rather than have pity on us, what we see rising on daily basis are different format of tickets. Government ticket, Union ticket, community ticket and so on.”
The drivers have vowed to stop work, as they are all parking their buses till further notice. They are calling on the attention of the state government and plead they come to their aid as the drivers are suffering lost now than ever
