The executive governor of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara have saluted his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike
The governor and the FCT minister has been in a log ahead over what the FCT minister referred to as battle for his political structure, even though the governor had boasted that the struggle is all about the red pen with him.

In Rivers State, there is a heightened political division among supporters who now refer to themselves as Supporters of the Governor and Supporters of the FCT minister.
It is still not clear if the FCT minister Nyesom Wike will officially move to the APC even though there are rumors of him joining around March 2024.
Trending video on social media from the emergency meeting called upon by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showed where the Vice President had called on the Rivers State Governor to go and salute Nyesom Wike who was already seated on his sit and was glancing through papers.
